DC1445A

Analog Devices Inc.
The LTC3603 is a high efficiency, monolithic synchronous step-down DC/DC converter utilizing a constant-frequency, current mode architecture. It operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 15V and provides an adjustable regulated output voltage from 0.6V to 14.5V while delivering up to 2.5A of output current. The internal synchronous power switch with 45m? on-resistance increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. The switching frequency can either be set by an external resistor or synchronized to an external clock. OPTI-LOOP? compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. The LTC3603 can be configured for either Burst Mode operation or forced continuous operation. Forced continuous operation reduces noise and RF interference, while Burst Mode operation provides the highest efficiency at light loads. In Burst Mode operation, external control of the burst clamp level allows the output voltage ripple to be adjusted according to the requirements of the application.Applications Point-of-Load Supplies Portable Instruments Communications Infrastructure

LTC1473CGN | Dual PowerPath Switch Driver

Analog Devices Inc.
The LTC1473 provides a power management solution for single and dual battery notebook computers and other portable equipment. The LTC1473 drives two sets of back-to-back N-channel MOSFET switches to route power to the input of the main system switching regulator. An internal boost regulator provides the voltage to fully enhance the logic level N-channel MOSFET switches. The LTC1473 senses current to limit surge currents both into and out of the batteries and the system supply capacitor during switch-over transitions or during fault conditions. A user-programmable timer monitors the time the MOSFET switches are in current limit and latches them off when programmed time is exceeded. A unique "2-diode mode" logic ensures system start-up regardless of which input receives power first. LT3743EUF Demo Board | High Current Step-Down LED Driver Controller, 6.5V ≤ VIN ≤ 24V, VLED = 6V @ 20A

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 1470 is a High Current Synchronous Step-Down LED Driver with Three-State Control featuring the LT3743EUFD. The demo board is optimized for 20A output from a 12V input. Being an LED driver, the output current is regulated until the output voltage reaches a programmed voltage limit. The voltage limit on this demo board is set to around 6V by resistors R5 and R6. The 6V is chosen because of the 6.3V voltage rating of the output capacitors. The ideal load to be used with this demo board is a single LED, such as PT120 from Luminus Devices. The input voltage range of the LT3743 is 6V to 36V; however, the demo board utilizes 30V MOSFETs to demonstrate best efficiency, so the maximum recommended input voltage is 24V for the demo board.

LTM4609EV Demo Board | 34VOUT, 4A Buck-Boost µModule Regulator

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit DC1477B features the LTM4609EV, the high voltage, high efficiency, high density switch mode buck-boost power module. The LTM4609EV regulates an output voltage above, below, or equal to the input voltage. DC1477B accepts an input voltage from 10V to 36V with a preset output voltage of 30V at up to 3A. Derating may be necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal conditions. An optional input π filter is added on the DC1477B to minimize the input ripple. The switching frequency may be synchronized to an external clock from 200kHz to 400kHz to reduce undesirable frequency harmonics and/or parallel multiple modules for even higher output current.
