The LT1170/LT1171/LT1172 are monolithic high power switching regulators. They can be operated in all standard switching configurations including buck, boost, flyback, forward, inverting and ?Cuk.? A high current, high efficiency switch is included on the die along with all oscillator, control and protection circuitry. Integration of all functions allows the LT1170/LT1171/LT1172 to be built in a standard 5-pin TO-3 or TO-220 power package as well as the 8-pin packages (LT1172). This makes them extremely easy to use and provides ?bust proof? operation similar to that obtained with 3-pin linear regulators. The LT1170/LT1171/LT1172 operate with supply voltages from 3V to 60V, and draw only 6mA quiescent current. They can deliver load power up to 100W with no external power devices. By utilizing current-mode switching techniques, they provide excellent AC and DC load and line regulation. The LT1170/LT1171/LT1172 have many unique features not found even on the vastly more difficult to use low power control chips presently available. They use adaptive antisat switch drive to allow very wide ranging load currents with no loss in efficiency. An externally activated shutdown mode reduces total supply current to 50?A typically for standby operation.Applications Logic Supply 5V at 10A 5V Logic to ?15V Op Amp Supply Battery Upconverter Power Inverter (+ to ?) or (? to +) Fully Floating Multiple OutputsUser Note:This data sheet is only intended to provide specifications, graphs, and a general functional description of the LT1170/LT1171/LT1172. Application circuits are included to show the capability of the LT1170/LT1171/LT1172. A complete design manual (AN19) should be obtained to assist in developing new designs. This manual contains a comprehensive discussion of both the LT1070 and the external components used with it, as well as complete formulas for calculating the values of these components. The manual can also be used for the LT1170/LT1171/LT1172 by factoring in the higher frequency. A CAD design program called SwitcherCAD? is also available.

LT3070EUFD Demo Board | 5A, Low Noise, Digitally Prog Output, Very Low Dropout Linear Regulator, 1.2V ≤ VIN ≤ 3V, VOUT = 0.8V to 1.8V @ 5A

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 1433 is an adjustable 5A linear regulator featuring the LT3070. The LT3070 is a low dropout voltage, UltraFast™ transient response linear regulator. The device supplies up to 5A of output current with a typical dropout voltage of 85mV. A 0.01μF reference bypass capacitor decreases output voltage noise to 25μVRMS. The LT3070’s high bandwidth permits the use of low ESR ceramic capacitors. Output voltage is digitally selectable in 50mV increments over a 0.8V to 1.8V range. The demo board has a 1.2V to 3V input voltage range and a 2.5V to 3.6V BIAS voltage range. A margining function allows the user to tolerance system output voltage in increments of ±1%, ±3% or ±5%. To maintain proper performance and regulation, the BIAS supply voltage must be higher than the IN supply voltage. For a given VOUT, the BIAS voltage must satisfy the following conditions: 2.2 ≤ VBIAS ≤ 3.6V and VBIAS ≥ (1.25 · VOUT + 1V). For VOUT ≤ 0.95V, the minimum bias voltage is limited to 2.2V.

The LTC3603 is a high efficiency, monolithic synchronous step-down DC/DC converter utilizing a constant-frequency, current mode architecture. It operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 15V and provides an adjustable regulated output voltage from 0.6V to 14.5V while delivering up to 2.5A of output current. The internal synchronous power switch with 45m? on-resistance increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. The switching frequency can either be set by an external resistor or synchronized to an external clock. OPTI-LOOP? compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. The LTC3603 can be configured for either Burst Mode operation or forced continuous operation. Forced continuous operation reduces noise and RF interference, while Burst Mode operation provides the highest efficiency at light loads. In Burst Mode operation, external control of the burst clamp level allows the output voltage ripple to be adjusted according to the requirements of the application.Applications Point-of-Load Supplies Portable Instruments Communications Infrastructure

The LTC3588-2 integrates a low-loss full-wave bridge rectifier with a high efficiency buck converter to form a complete energy harvesting solution optimized for high output impedance energy sources such as piezoelectric, solar, or magnetic transducers. An ultralow quiescent current undervoltage lockout (UVLO) mode with a 16V rising threshold enables efficient energy extraction from sources with high open circuit voltages. This energy is transferred from the input capacitor to the output via a high efficiency synchronous buck regulator. The 16V UVLO threshold also allows for input to output current multiplication through the buck regulator. The buck features a sleep state that minimizes both input and output quiescent currents while in regulation.Four output voltages of 3.45V, 4.1V, 4.5V and 5.0V are pin selectable with up to 100mA of continuous output current, and suit Li-Ion and LiFePO4 batteries as well as supercapacitors. The LTC3620 is a high efficiency, synchronous buck regulator, suitable for very low power, very small footprint applications powered by a single Li-Ion battery. The internal synchronous switches increase efficiency and eliminate the need for external Schottky diodes. Low output voltages are easily supported by the 0.6V feedback reference voltage. The LTC3620-1 option is internally programmed to provide a 1.1V output. The LTC3620 uses a unique variable frequency architecture to minimize power loss and achieve high efficiency. The switching frequency is proportional to the load current, and an internal frequency clamp forces a minimum switching frequency at light loads to minimize noise in the audio range. The user can program the frequency of this clamp by applying an external clock to the FMIN/MODE pin.The battery status output, LOBATB, indicates when the input voltage drops below 3V. To help prevent damage to the battery, an undervoltage lockout (UVLO) circuit shuts down the part if the input voltage falls below 2.8V.The LTC3620 is available in a low profile, 2mm ? 2mm 8-lead DFN package.Applications Hearing Aids Wireless Headsets Li-Ion Cell Applications Button Cell Replacement

The LTC2942 measures battery charge state, battery voltage and chip temperature in handheld PC and portable product applications. Its operating range is perfectly suited for single-cell Li-Ion batteries. A precision coulomb counter integrates current through a sense resistor between the battery?s positive terminal and the load or charger. Battery voltage and on-chip temperature are measured with an internal 14-bit No Latency ??? ADC. The three measured quantities (charge, voltage and temperature) are stored in internal registers accessible via the on-board SMBus/I2C interface. The LTC2942 features programmable high and low thresholds for all three measured quantities. If a programmed threshold is exceeded, the device communicates an alert using either the SMBus alert protocol or by setting a flag in the internal status register. The LTC2942 requires only a single low value sense resistor to set the measured current range.
