The LTC3616 is a low quiescent current monolithic synchronous buck regulator using a current mode, constant frequency architecture. The no-load DC supply current in sleep mode is only 70?A while maintaining the output voltage (Burst Mode operation) at no load, dropping to zero current in shutdown. The 2.25V to 5.5V input supply voltage range makes the LTC3616 ideally suited for single Li-Ion as well as fixed low voltage input applications. 100% duty cycle capability provides low dropout operation, extending the operating time in battery-powered systems. The operating frequency is externally programmable up to 4MHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors. For switching noise-sensitive applications, the LTC3616 can be synchronized to an external clock at up to 4MHz.Forced continuous mode operation in the LTC3616 reduces noise and RF interference. Adjustable compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. The internal synchronous switch increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external catch diode, saving external components and board space. The LTC3616 is offered in a leadless 24-pin 3mm ? 5mm thermally enhanced QFN package.Applications Point-of-Load Supplies Distributed Power Supplies Portable Computer Systems DDR Memory Termination Handheld Devices

SEPIC (5V@250mA) for Auxiliary Bias Supply
Texas Instruments
The PMP5422 reference design provides an isolated 5V at 250mA from a 120VAC/60Hz input in less than 1 square inch of board space. This design uses the TPS40210 in a non-isolated SEPIC topology. The SEPIC clamping capacitor reduces ringing on the drain of the MOSFET and recaptures leakage energy to improve efficiency.

The LTC5505-X is an RF power detector for RF applications operating in the 300MHz to 3.5GHz range. A temperature compensated Schottky diode peak detector and buffer amplifier are combined in a small 5-pin ThinSOT package. The supply voltage range is optimized for operation from a single lithium-ion cell or 3xNiMH.The RF input voltage is peak detected using an on-chip Schottky diode. The detected voltage is buffered and supplied to the VOUT pin. A power saving shutdown mode reduces supply current to less than 2?A.The LTC5505-1 operates with input power levels from ?28dBm to 18dBm. The LTC5505-2 operates with input power levels from ?32dBm to 12dBm.Applications Multimode Mobile Phone Products PCS Devices Wireless Data Modems Wireless and Cable Infrastructure RF Power Alarm Envelope Detector

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADA8282 is designed for applications that require low cost, low power, compact size, and flexibility. The ADA8282 has four parallel channels, each including a low noise preamplifier (LNA) and a programmable gain amplifier (PGA). The LNA and PGA combine to form a signal chain that features a gain range of 18 dB to 36 dB in 6 dB increments with a guaranteed minimum bandwidth of 5 MHz.Using the highest power settings, the combined input referred voltage noise of the combined LNA and PGA channel is 3.4 nV/?Hz at maximum gain. The ADA8282 can be configured in four power modes that trade off power and noise performance to optimize the performance according to the end application. Fabricated in an advanced complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process, the ADA8282 is available in a 5 mm ? 5 mm, RoHS-compliant, 32-lead LFCSP. It is specified over the automotive temperature range of ?40?C to +125?C. Applications Automotive radar Adaptive cruise control Collision avoidance Blind spot detection Self parking Electronic bumper

Considerations for PCB Layout and Impedance Matching Design in Optical Modules
Texas Instruments
The optical module offers an effective high-speed solution for a growing telecom market. Data rates range from 155 Mbps to 6 Gbps and even up to 10 Gbps. Transmitter optical sub-assemblies (TOSAs) and laser drivers may have different resistances in a given application so the reflection could be worse if the designer does not use an impedance transfer circuit to absorb it. The ADA4570 is an anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) sensor with integrated signal conditioning amplifiers and analog-to-digital converter (ADC) drivers. The ADA4570 produces two differential analog outputs that indicate the angular position of the surrounding magnetic field. The ADA4570 consists of two die within one package, an AMR sensor, and a fixed gain instrumentation amplifier. The ADA4570 delivers amplified differential cosine and sine output signals, with respect to the angle, when the magnetic field is rotating in the x-axis and the y-axis (x-y) plane. The output voltage range is ratiometric to the supply voltage. The sensor contains two Wheatstone bridges, at a relative angle of 45? to one another. A complete rotation of a dipole magnet produces two periods on the sinusoidal outputs. Therefore, the magnetic angle (?) calculated from the SIN and COS differential outputs represents the physical orientation of the magnet with respect to the ADA4570 in the 0? to 180? measurement range. Within a homogeneous field in the x-y plane, the output signals of the ADA4570 are independent of the physical placement in the z direction (air gap). The ADA4570 is available in an 8-lead SOIC package.APPLICATIONS Absolute position measurement (linear and angle) Brushless dc motor control and positioning Actuator control and positioning Contactless angular measurement and detection Magnetic angular position sensing

15V – 50V input to 12V@5A: Non Sync Buck
Texas Instruments
It is a non synchronous buck controller. It uses a constant on time (COT) device i.e. LM5085.This circuit has ceramic output capacitors which have very low ESR. Therefore the ripple is generated using the DCR of the inductor. The ripple voltage is then superimposed onto the feedback voltage.

An additional low current output (VTTR) also equal to one-half the voltage on VDDQIN can source and sink up to 10mA. Input voltage range is from 2.25V to 5.5V with overvoltage protection for transients exceeding 6.5V.
