The ADP2138 and ADP2139 are high efficiency, low quiescent current, synchronous step-down dc-to-dc converters. The ADP2139 has the additional feature of an internal discharge switch. The total solution requires only three tiny external components. When the MODE pin is set high, the buck regulator operates in forced PWM mode, which provides low peak-to-peak ripple for power supply noise sensitive loads at the expense of light load efficiency. When the MODE pin is set low, the buck regulator automatically switches operating modes, depending on the load current level. At higher output loads, the buck regulator operates in PWM mode. When the load current falls below a predefined threshold, the regulator operates in power save mode (PSM), improving light load efficiency. The ADP2138/ADP2139 operate on input voltages of 2.3 V to 5.5 V, which allows for single lithium or lithium polymer cell, multiple alkaline or NiMH cell, PCMCIA, USB, and other standard power sources. The maximum load current of 800 mA is achievable across the input voltage range. The ADP2138/ADP2139 are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3 V, 3.0 V, 2.8 V, 2.5 V, 1.8 V, 1.5 V, 1.2 V, 1.0 V, and 0.8 V. All versions include an internal power switch and synchronous rectifier for minimal external part count and high efficiency. The ADP2138/ADP2139 have internal soft start and they are internally compensated. During logic controlled shutdown, the input is disconnected from the output and the ADP2138/ADP2139 draw 0.2 ?A (typical) from the input source.Other key features include undervoltage lockout to prevent deep battery discharge, and soft start to prevent input current overshoot at startup. The ADP2138/ADP2139 are available in a 6-ball wafer level chip scale package (WLCSP).Applications PDAs and palmtop computers Wireless handsets Digital audio, portable media players Digital cameras, GPS navigation units

The LTC3616 is a low quiescent current monolithic synchronous buck regulator using a current mode, constant frequency architecture. The no-load DC supply current in sleep mode is only 70?A while maintaining the output voltage (Burst Mode operation) at no load, dropping to zero current in shutdown. The 2.25V to 5.5V input supply voltage range makes the LTC3616 ideally suited for single Li-Ion as well as fixed low voltage input applications. 100% duty cycle capability provides low dropout operation, extending the operating time in battery-powered systems. The operating frequency is externally programmable up to 4MHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors. For switching noise-sensitive applications, the LTC3616 can be synchronized to an external clock at up to 4MHz.Forced continuous mode operation in the LTC3616 reduces noise and RF interference. Adjustable compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. The internal synchronous switch increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external catch diode, saving external components and board space. The LTC3616 is offered in a leadless 24-pin 3mm ? 5mm thermally enhanced QFN package.Applications Point-of-Load Supplies Distributed Power Supplies Portable Computer Systems DDR Memory Termination Handheld Devices

The ADM8611 /?ADM8612?/?ADM8613?/?ADM8614?/?ADM8615?are voltage supervisory circuits that monitor power supply voltage levels and code execution integrity in microprocessor-based systems. Apart from providing power-on reset signals, an on-chip watchdog timer can reset the microprocessor if it fails to strobe within a preset timeout period. A reset signal can also be asserted by an external push-button through a manual reset input. The ultralow power consumption of these devices makes them suitable for power efficiency sensitive systems, such as battery-powered portable devices and energy meters. The features of each member of the device family are shown in Table 9 in the data sheet. Each device subdivides into submodels with differences in factory preset voltage monitoring threshold options. In the range of 2 V to 4.63 V, 10 options are available for the ADM8611. In the range of 2.32 V to 4.63 V, five options are available for both the ADM8613 and ADM8614. A separate supply input allows the ADM8612 and ADM8615 to monitor 20 different low voltage levels from 0.5 V to 1.9 V. Not all device options are available as standard models. The ADM8611, ADM8612, ADM8613, and ADM8615 can reset on demand through the manual reset input. The watchdog function on the ADM8613, ADM8614, and ADM8615 monitors the heartbeat of the microprocessor through the WDI pin. The ADM8613 and ADM8614 have a watchdog disable input, which allows the user to disable the watchdog function, if required. The ADM8614 also has a watchdog timeout extension input, allowing the watchdog timeout to be extended from 1.6 sec to 100 sec.The ADM8611/ADM8612/ADM8613/ADM8614/ADM8615 are available in a 6-ball, 1.46 mm ? 0.96 mm WLCSP. These devices are specified over the temperature range of ?40?C to +85?C.??APPLICATIONS Portable/battery-operated equipment Microprocessor systems Energy metering Energy harvesting
