Texas Instruments
This reference design supports the supply for a security tracker using the TPS40200-Q1: with the opportunity of a wide input voltage range from 8V-50V. The output can handle 4.3V up to 3A due to the non-synchronous buck controller. The reference design also allows for flexible design with a simple configuration due to the device.

Direct Type/ Local Dimming (Conventional TV power + Boost + LED driver)
Texas Instruments
In this topology: the UCC28051 is a boost transition mode (TM) power factor corrector (PFC): which can rectify an AC input line voltage to 380V DC; the resonant LLC stage UCC25600 regulates the output to 24V/2A for an audio amplifier with feedback to the LLC controller: and 48V for the LED driver input. The flyback with UCC28610 in parallel generates 5V/3A for the system board and 5V/1A for standby power. In the LED driver stage: the 48V input voltage requires another front end boost stage to boost the output voltage to 80V: which connects to the eight-channel TLC5960 with 20LEDs at 120mA per string. This technique is the most common type of current LED backlight; the LLC design is easily implemented. The intelligent headroom voltage monitor (oriHVM™) automatically minimizes the power loss caused by the LED forward voltage change. Only a single additional resistor regulates the boost dc-dc output voltage.

PMP2627 is a synchronous buck converter with 16-28V DC input voltage range. The output with 12.0V @ 8.5A has much output capacitance for big load steps. The converter resists voltage peaks up to 40V on the input and an input filter reduces ripple on the supply voltage rail.

AD8376-EVALZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8376 is a dual channel, digitally controlled, variable gain wide bandwidth amplifier that provides precise gain control, high IP3, and low noise figure. The excellent distortion performance and high signal bandwidth make the AD8376 an excellent gain control device for a variety of receiver applications. Using an advanced high speed SiGe process and incorporating proprietary distortion cancellation techniques, the AD8376 achieves 50 dBm output IP3 at 200 MHz. The AD8376 provides a broad 24 dB gain range with 1 dB resolution. The gain of each channel is adjusted through dedicated 5-pin control interfaces and can be driven using standard TTL levels. The open-collector outputs provide a flexible interface, allowing the overall signal gain to be set by the loading impedance. Thus, the signal voltage gain is directly proportional to the load. Each channel of the AD8376 can be individually powered on by applying the appropriate logic level to the ENBA and ENBB power enable pins. The quiescent current of the AD8376 is typically 130 mA per channel. When powered down, the AD8376 consumes less than 5 mA and offers excellent input-to-output isolation, lower than ?50 dB at 200 MHz. Fabricated on an Analog Devices, Inc., high speed SiGe process, the AD8376 is supplied in a compact, thermally enhanced, 5 mm ? 5mm 32-lead LFCSP package and operates over the temperature range of ?40?C to +85?C.ApplicationsDifferential ADC drivers Main and diversity IF sampling receivers Wideband multichannel receivers Instrumentation Data Sheet, Rev. 0, 8/07

The AD5124/AD5144/AD5144A potentiometers provide a nonvolatile solution for 128-/256-position adjustment applications, offering guaranteed low resistor tolerance errors of ?8% and up to ?6 mA current density in the Ax, Bx, and Wx pins. The low resistor tolerance and low nominal temperature coefficientsimplify open-loop applications as well as applications requiringtolerance matching. The linear gain setting mode allows independent programmingof the resistance between the digital potentiometer terminals, through the RAW and RWB string resistors, allowing very accurate resistor matching. The high bandwidth and low total harmonic distortion (THD)ensure optimal performance for ac signals, making these devicessuitable for filter design. The low wiper resistance of only 40 ? at the ends of the resistor array allow for pin-to-pin connection. The wiper values can be set through an SPI-/I2C-compatible digital interface that is also used to read back the wiper register andEEPROM contents. The AD5124/AD5144/AD5144A are available in a compact, 24-lead, 4 mm ? 4 mm LFCSP and a 20-lead TSSOP. The partsare guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperaturerange of ?40?C to +125?C.APPLICATIONS Portable electronics level adjustment LCD panel brightness and contrast controls Programmable filters, delays, and time constants Programmable power suppliesThe AD5144-EP supports defense and aerospace applications (AQEC).

Using ADS8410/13 in Daisy Chain Mode
Texas Instruments
Many applications require multiple analog-to-digital converters (ADC) in a system. Daisy chaining multiple ADCs enables the use of a single data receiver or a small FPGA. It offers easy and minimal digital routing. This application report describes how multiple ADCs (ADS8410/13) work in a daisy-chain mode. The device offers a high-speed (200 Mbps) LVDS serial interface. This application report als

ADP2108-1.5-EVALZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADP2108 is a high efficiency, low quiescent current step-down dc-to-dc converter manufactured in two different packages. The total solution requires only three tiny external components. It uses a proprietary, high speed current mode, constant frequency PWM control scheme for excellent stability and transient response. To ensure the longest battery life in portable applications, the ADP2108 has a power save mode that reduces the switching frequency under light load conditions. The ADP2108 runs on input voltages of 2.3 V to 5.5 V, which allows for single lithium or lithium polymer cell, multiple alkaline or NiMH cell, PCMCIA, USB, and other standard power sources. The maximum load current of 600 mA is achievable across the input voltage range. The ADP2108 is available in fixed output voltages of 3.3 V, 3.0 V, 2.5 V, 2.3 V, 1.82 V, 1.8 V, 1.5 V, 1.3 V, 1.2 V, 1.1 V, and 1.0 V. All versions include an internal power switch and synchronous rectifier for minimal external part count and high efficiency. The ADP2108 has an internal soft start and is internally compensated. During logic controlled shutdown, the input is disconnected from the output and the ADP2108 draws less than 1 ?A from the input source.Other key features include undervoltage lockout to prevent deep battery discharge and soft start to prevent input current over-shoot at startup. The ADP2108 is available in 5-ball WLCSP and 5-lead TSOT packages. The ADP2109 provides the same features and operations as the ADP2108 and has the additional function of a discharge switch in the WLCSP package.APPLICATIONS PDAs and palmtop computers Wireless handsets Digital audio, portable media players Digital cameras, GPS navigation units
