The ADL5504 is a TruPwr? mean-responding (true rms) power detector for use in high frequency receiver and transmitter signal chains from 450 MHz to 6000 MHz. Requiring only a single supply between 2.5 V and 3.3 V, the detector draws less than 1.8 mA. The input is internally ac-coupled and has a nominal input impedance of 500 ?. The rms output is a linear-responding dc voltage with a conversion gain of 1.87 V/V rms at 900 MHz.The ADL5504 is a highly accurate, easy to use means of determining the rms of complex waveforms. It can be used for power measurements of both simple and complex waveforms but is particularly useful for measuring high crest factor (high peak-to-rms ratio) signals, such as W-CDMA, CDMA2000, WiMAX, WLAN, and LTE waveforms. The on-chip modulation filter provides adequate averaging for most waveforms. For more complex waveforms, an external capacitor at the FLTR pin can be used for supplementary signal demodulation. An on-chip, 100 ? series resistance at the output, combined with an external shunt capacitor, creates a low-pass filter response that reduces the residual ripple in the dc output voltage. The ADL5504 offers excellent temperature stability across a 30 dB range and near 0 dB measurement error across temperature over the top portion of the dynamic range. In addition to its temperature stability, the ADL5504 offers low process variations that further reduce calibration complexity. The power detector operates from ?40?C to +85?C and is available in a 6-ball, 0.8 mm ? 1.2 mm, wafer level chip scale package. It is fabricated on a high fT silicon BiCMOS process.Applications Power measurement of W-CDMA, CDMA2000, QPSK-/QAM-based OFDM (LTE and WiMAX), and other complex modulation waveforms RF transmitter or receiver power measurement

EVAL-ADATE320EBZ

The ADATE320 is a complete, single-chip ATE solution that performs the pin electronics functions of a driver, comparator, and active load (DCL), and a four quadrant per pin parametric measurement unit (PPMU). Dedicated 16-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) with on-chip calibration registers provide all the necessary dc levels for operation of the device. The driver features three active modes: high, low, and terminate, as well as a high impedance inhibit state. The inhibit state, in conjunction with the integrated dynamic clamps, facilitates significant attenuation of transmission line reflections when the driver is not actively terminating the line. The open-circuit drive capability is ?1.5 V to +4.5 V to accommodate a standard range of ATE and instrumentation applications. The ADATE320 can be used as a dual, single-ended pin electronics channel or as a single differential channel. In addition to per channel high speed window comparators, the ADATE320 provides a programmable threshold differential comparator for differential ATE applications. All dc levels for DCL and PPMU functions are generated by dedicated, on-chip, 16-bit DACs. To facilitate the programming of accurate levels, the ADATE320 includes an integrated calibration function to correct for the gain and offset errors of each functional block. Correction coefficients can be stored on chip, and any values written to the DACs adjust automatically using the appropriate correction factors. The ADATE320 uses a serial programmable interface (SPI) bus to program all functional blocks, DACs, and on-chip calibration constants. It also has an on-chip temperature sensor and overvolt-age/undervoltage fault clamps that monitor and report the device temperature and any output pin or transient PPMU voltage faults that may occur during operation. The ADATE320 is available in two options. The standard option has high speed comparator outputs with 250 mV output swing. The ADATE320-1 has 400 mV output swing. The EVAL-AD7134FMCZ evaluation kit features the AD7134 24-bit, 4-channel, simultaneous sampling, 1.5 MSPS precision alias free analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Two on-board AD7134 ADCs are included to demonstrate multidevice simultaneous sampling. The EVAL-AD7134FMCZ draws power from the system demonstration platform (SDP) EVAL-SDP-CH1Z (SDP-H1) board, and the on-board dc-to-dc regulators regulate an external supply of 8 V to 14 V down to 5 V, 1.8 V, and 1.2 V to supply the AD7134 and peripheral components. Both on-board ADCs have a separate reference of 4.096 V generated by the on-board ADR444. The ADCs have three clock input options and can be clocked by a crystal input, a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) oscillator, or a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) clock. The EVAL-AD7134FMCZ connects to the PC USB port via the SDP-H1 board. The AD7134 evaluation software running on a PC provides full accessibility to the AD7134 device register map, as well as a data analysis interface to display key parameters and graphics from the conversion result in both time and frequency domains. For full details on the AD7134, see the AD7134 data sheet, which must be consulted in conjunction with this user guide when using the EVAL-AD7134FMCZ.

EVAL-AD7403FMCZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD7403 is a high performance, second-order, ?-? modulator that converts an analog input signal into a high speed, single-bit data stream, with on-chip digital isolation based on Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler? technology. The AD7403 operates from a 5 V (VDD1) power supply and accepts a differential input signal of ?250 mV (?320 mV full-scale). The differential input is ideally suited to shunt voltage monitoring in high voltage applications where galvanic isolation is required. The analog input is continuously sampled by a high performance analog modulator, and converted to a ones density digital output stream with a data rate of up to 20 MHz. The original information can be reconstructed with an appropriate digital filter to achieve 88 dB signal to noise ratio (SNR) at ?78.1 kSPS. The serial input/output can use a 5 V or a 3 V supply (VDD2).The serial interface is digitally isolated. High speed complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology, combined with monolithic transformer technology, means the on-chip isolation provides outstanding performance characteristics, superior to alternatives such as optocoupler devices. The AD7403 device is offered in a 16-lead, wide-body SOIC package and has an operating temperature range of ?40?C to +125?C. The AD7403-8 device is offered in an 8-lead, wide-body SOIC package and has an operating temperature range of ?40?C to +105?C.Applications Shunt current monitoring AC motor controls Power and solar inverters Wind turbine inverters Data acquisition systems Analog-to-digital and opto-isolator replacements

Two-Phase Interleaved Power Factor Correction Converter Reference Design with Power Metering
Texas Instruments
This design is a digitally controlled: two phase interleaved: 700W power factor correction converter with added power metering functionality. A C2000™ Piccolo™ microcontroller is the controller for the two 180 ° phase shifted boost power stages that comprise the power factor correction converter: and: additionally: it monitors the line and neutral voltage waveforms to implement power metering functions. This design is able to achieve 97% efficiency and 1.5% THD at full load with power factor greater than 0.98. By minimizing power loss in the power stage: reducing reliability impacts of harmonic distortion: and providing near unity power factor: this design is a great choice for off-line applications and AC/DC power supplies.
