JESD204B Link Latency Design Using a High Speed ADC
Texas Instruments
JESD204B links are the latest trend in data-converter digital interfaces. These links take advantage of high-speed serial-digital technology to offer many compelling benefits including improved channel densities. This reference design addresses one of the challenges of adopting the new interface: understanding and designing the link latency. An example achieves deterministic latency and determines the link latency of a system containing the Texas Instruments LM97937 ADC and Xilinx Kintex 7 FPGA.

U-122 A New Family of Integrated Circuits Controls Resonant Mode Power
Texas Instruments
This application note introduces the UC3861-8 family of ICs which are optimized for the control of zero-current-switched and zero-voltage-switched quasi-resonant converters. Differences among members of this device family result from the various combinations of UVLO thresholds and output options. The one-shot pulse steering logic is configured to program either on time for ZCS systems (UC1865-186

Resonant LLC Half-Bridge DC/DC Converter
Texas Instruments
This design is a digitally controlled 300W resonant LLC half-bridge DC/DC converter with added synchronous rectification. The resonant LLC power topology is valued for its inherently high levels of efficiency credited to high frequency: low loss resonant switching. However: implementation of such a power converter can be challenging since the control theory is based in frequency modulation of the converter rather than the more typically seen duty cycle modulation. This design guides users step-by-step through the complexities of a resonant LLC half-bridge converter: melding software and hardware design approaches to implement a complete high performance converter. The C2000™ Piccolo™ microcontroller is the digital controller for this design: enabling the resonant converter to operate at greater than 90% efficiency across wide load ranges: and with peak efficiency greater than 93%.

12-mm Tape-and-Reel Component-Delivery System
Texas Instruments
The design advances of component pick-and-place automated equipment for board assembly increasingly are pushing the margins of the tape-and-reel packing configurations. The continuing drive for faster assembly reduces the index time and tends to amplify the forces acting on the tape-and-reel component-delivery system. The magnified forces when combined with a high carrier-tape width-to-component

35V to 60V Input: 600W Output Dual-Phase Buck Converter Design with Greater than 97% Efficiency
Texas Instruments
This 600W wide voltage input dual phase power converter uses two emulated current-mode controllers 180 degrees out of phase to minimize input and output ripple current. Compared to conventional isolated power converters: this synchronous buck architecture provides a reduced footprint and BOM cost at higher levels of efficiency: greater than 97% over several operating conditions.

ADL5530-EVALZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADL5530 is a broadband, fixed-gain, linear amplifier that operates at frequencies up to 1000 MHz. The device can be used in a wide variety of wired and wireless devices, including cellular, broadband, CATV, and LMDS/MMDS applications. The ADL5530 provides a gain of 16.5 dB, which is stable over frequency, temperature, power supply, and from device to device. It achieves an OIP3 of 37 dBm with an output compression point of 21.8 dB and a noise figure of 3 dB.This amplifier is single-ended and internally matched to 50 ? with an input return loss of 11 dB. Only input/output ac-coupling capacitors, a power supply decoupling capacitor, and an external inductor are required for operation. The ADL5530 operates with supply voltages of 3 V or 5 V with a supply current of 110 mA.The ADL5530 is fabricated on a GaAs pHEMPT process. The device is packaged in a 3 mm ? 2 mm LFCSP that uses an exposed paddle for excellent thermal impedance. It operates from ?40?C to +85?C. A fully populated evaluation board is also available.Applications VCO buffers General purpose Tx/Rx amplification
