TIDM-1WIREEEPROM Reference Design

Texas Instruments

Memory Emulation Using 1-Wire Communication Protocol Reference Design

Description

By applying low power modes and FRAM technology this reference design utilizes 1-wire device communication to emulate EEPROM functionality on an MSP430™ microcontroller (MCU).  This solution includes the ability to be powered parasitically from the communication line and allocates more memory space than is available than current 1-wire devices on the market.

Features
  • Complete 1-Wire protocol support assures an easy transition and effortless substitution for similar EEPROM devicesUses LPMs to accomplish an average standby current consumption of 600 nA in standby modeDesign is achievable on any MSP430 FRAM MCU and allows for flexibility in the available EEPROM memory spaceIncludes selectable operation modes such as dedicated or parasitic powerProvided firmware may be nodified for use in other 1-wire applications
Applications
Product Categories
  • MSP430 microcontrollers
