Description

This TI Precision Verified Design provides the theory: component selection: simulation: PCB design: and measurement details for a PWM to 12-bit resolution analog signal conversion circuit.  Methods for selecting the passive filter’s order: cutoff frequency: and component values are included.  This design example includes a 12 bit filter but the methodology can be applied to target other desired resolutions.  This design also includes a test circuit: which is required to confirm that the output error (ripple) meets the design requirements because it cannot be directly measured using standard test equipment.
