TIDM-RFID-TEMPSENSOR Reference Design

Texas Instruments

A Low-Power Batteryless Wireless Temperature and Humidity Sensor with Passive Low Frequency RFID

Description

This design: featuring an ultra-low-power MSP MCU paired with a TMS37157 Passive Low Frequency RFID device can enable a ultra-low power wireless temperature & humidity sensor (SHT21). With RFID: applications can benefit from hermetically sealed enclosures by leveraging RFID to provide power and data transmission wirelessly through an enclosure. This design provides complete hardware: software & PC-side software to get you up and running.

Features
  • Passive Low Frequency RFID application with an ultra-low power microcontrollerHumidity & temperature sensing with SHT21 sensor(I2C interface to MCU)An RF field of 134.2 kHz can be used to charge the wireless temperature node &serve as the communication interface.Hardware is available for order (eZ430-TMS37157)Hardware design files: software & PC side GUI are also provided
Applications
  • Off-highway vehicles sensor systems
