Discrete Resolver Front-End Reference Design With C2000™ Microcontroller and ±0.1° Accuracy

Description

This reference design is an excitation amplifier and analog front end for resolver sensors. The design implements only discrete components and standard operational amplifiers on a 1-in2 printed circuit board (PCB). The provided algorithm and code example uses a 2000™ microcontroller (MCU) LaunchPad™ Development Kit with the TMS320F28069M MCU for signal processing and angle calculation. The reference design uses an innovative: scattered-signal processing method. This method improves the system accuracy by 250% while maintaining hardware costs and complexity to a reasonable level. The TIDA-01527 is a low-cost companion design for the TIDA-00796 and TIDA-00363 reference designs. These designs are based on the PGA411-Q1 and offer advanced features such as protections and diagnostics.
