Freescale i.MX6 Power Reference Design for Electronic Point of Sale Applications

Description

This TI Reference Design utilizes a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) for powering a Freescale® i.MX6 SoC for electronic point of sale applications. This design showcases the TPS65911 as an all-in-one IC used to supply the rails needed for powering the i.MX6 SoC: with available regulators for system peripherals in an electronic point of sale application.  The TPS65911 offers simple: flexibile output voltages and sequencing. The voltages on the DC/DC converters can be adjusted over i2c once the device has entered the active state: allowing for individual regulator customization.

Features
  • Offers 3 highly efficient: adjustable DC-DC converters with integrated FETs: 1 Controller for external FETs: and 8 adjustable general purpose LDOs Provides all supply rails to power the IMX6 in a compact 2.095 in2 area (includes passive components) Supports up to 5.5V supplyAdditional LDOs to power peripherals in systemThe TPS65911 offers an integrated Real Time Clock (RTC) for time-critical applicationsThe 0.65mm pitch of the 98-pin BGA package enables robust trace routing (6mm x 9mm)
Applications
  • Process analytics
Product Categories
  • Power management
