PMP8549 Reference Design

Texas Instruments

Instrument Cluster Applications for Automotive

Description

This reference design supports the supply to power an instrument cluster application using the TPS54260-Q1. The device can handle an input range of 9V to 16V with an output of -6.5V at 400mA due to the inverting buck/boost regulator. It works in continuous conduction mode and a post-filter is optional for this design.

Features
  • Integrated 200mΩ N-channel FET to produce efficiency greater than 90% peakPulse skipping eco-mode allows for high light load efficiencyDevice is optimized for low duty cycle operation or frequency band avoidanceSynchronized to external clock to eliminate beat noiseAdjustable slow start time to reduce in-rush currentsPower good: enable: and track pin to implement various sequencing schemes
Applications
  • Hybrid instrument cluster
  • Reconfigurable instrument cluster
  • Entry level instrument cluster
Product Categories
  • Power management
